Job summary

Regents Park State School, part of the Queensland Department of Education, seeks a compassionate Guidance Officer (0.40 FTE / 20 hours per fortnight) to support students two days per week with counselling and educational guidance.

You will work with students, families and staff to assess and respond to learning, behavioural and emotional needs, providing advocacy and linked services. This temporary role from 21 January 2027 to 25 June 2027 supports pathways and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, skilled and student-focused candidate.
• Experience in counselling and educational support within school settings is preferred.
• Ability to work with students, families, teachers and external agencies.

• Provide professional guidance, counselling, assessment and case management services.
• Support students with diverse educational, behavioural, social and emotional needs.
