Job summary

St Vincent's Primary School, Clear Island Waters, is seeking a dedicated School Officer (Classroom Support) to assist teachers and support learners across Prep to Year 6. The role is 22.5 hours per week, part-time, with a fixed-term arrangement at St Vincents on the Gold Coast.

You will help deliver engaging lessons, support individuals and small groups, maintain a safe classroom, and contribute to students' social and emotional wellbeing while preparing learning activities and resources.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for working with young children.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to assist in delivering teaching programs, including technology use and learning support.
• Knowledge of how to prepare learning activities and organise resources/materials for lessons.

Responsibilities

• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences, including the use of technology.
• Supporting students with individual and small group activities, including those with learning disabilities.
• Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment.
• Contribute to the social and emotional wellbeing of students.
• Collaborating with staff to support the learning and care needs of young children.
• Prepare learning support activities and organise printed materials and classroom displays, ensuring items are returned to designated areas after use.
• Ensure resources and materials are clean, safe, and in good condition; arrange repairs or replacements as needed.
• Document observation notes and intervention programs.
• Assist in the collation and preparation of classroom materials.
