Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a Chef for Ballarat Grammar Boarding in Wendouree, VIC. You will prepare meals for functions and events, showcasing baking skills in a supportive educational setting.

The role offers a Monday–Friday roster with a 6:00 am–2:30 pm shift, a strong focus on food safety, and opportunities for training and career development within a leading contract catering provider.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Proven baking skills are essential.
• Experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience in high-volume catering, ideally within an education or boarding school environment.
• Strong organisational skills and commitment to upholding food quality, safety and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality meals for functions, formal dinners and special events
• Execute baking and bulk food preparation to meet service requirements
• Support efficient kitchen operations and ensure timely meal delivery
• Deliver professional, customer-focused service to guests
• Uphold food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards
