Job summary

Cater Care is seeking an enthusiastic Chef to join our educational facility kitchen in Ipswich, delivering high-quality meals for students and staff. This full-time role runs 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with one weekend shift and Time in Lieu, and school holidays off.

You will work with a dedicated team to prepare and present dishes for daily meals and special events, maintain food safety standards, and support a friendly, efficient kitchen operation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in a chef role, preferably in education sector.
• Strong high-volume meal preparation and bulk catering experience.
• Excellent communication, presentation and time-management skills.
• Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present fresh, high-quality meals for students and staff.
• Support high-volume and bulk meal production.
• Deliver professional and friendly customer service.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
• Adhere to food safety and workplace health and safety standards.
• Provide efficient service with a positive, proactive approach.
