Job summary

Brightwater State School is seeking a reliable Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our school community. The role is permanent part-time (0.20 FTE), 15.20 hours per fortnight, working Fridays and shared with another officer who works Monday to Thursday.

The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work, problem solving and keeping the school environment safe and ready for learning. This position works under the direction of a Facilities Manager representing Aspire Schools and the PPP

Qualifications

• Experience in school grounds and facilities is preferred.
• Ability to work Fridays and independently.
• Commitment to WHS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide general school operational support (mail, supplies, stock control, furniture setup).
• Support school security and access control, including banking of school funds.
• Undertake grounds and facility maintenance (cleaning, drains, gutters, event setup).
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, furniture, windows and locks.
• Maintain school grounds and sporting facilities (mowing, gardening, watering).
• Ensure WHS compliance and safe storage of chemicals, fuel and equipment.
• Liaise with staff, tradespeople and students regarding maintenance and facility issues.
