The role entails maintaining grounds, managing equipment, and coordinating waste and supplies to uphold high standards of safety and appearance.

You will work under supervision on routine tasks and gain experience across a range of day-to-day duties within a school environment.

Aufgaben

• Grounds and garden maintenance: mow and maintain ovals, lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs, including watering, weeding, soil care and applying fertilisers or insecticides as required.
• Equipment maintenance: maintain groundskeeping equipment and arrange regular servicing.
• Workplace health and safety: maintain a safe work environment and ensure safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuel.
• Rubbish removal: coordinate removal and disposal of rubbish as required.
• Repairs and maintenance: carry out or arrange repairs to school facilities such as fences, paving, gates and irrigation systems.
• Supplies and materials: order or collect authorised groundskeeping and cleaning supplies and materials.
• Ground improvements: undertake projects to improve school grounds and outdoor areas.
• Sports facility maintenance: prepare, mark and maintain outdoor sporting facilities including courts and tracks.
• Agricultural support: assist with duties in the field laboratory for junior agricultural course where no assistant is employed.
