Aspect Hunter School is seeking a self-motivated groundskeeper to perform maintenance on school buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe environment for students and staff. The role is part-time, with shifts across 2 or 3 days per week, and a maximum-term contract through 2027.

• Understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance.
• Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Trade certification and background is desirable.
• Current driver’s licence and use of own vehicle.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment.
• International Police Check clearance may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure building systems and machines run smoothly (air conditioning, pumps).
• Undertake repair/maintenance work for school buildings (locks, windows, lights, patching).
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken.
• Handle, store, and distribute goods/materials.
• Move equipment/furniture as required.
• Upkeep school grounds (mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, litter disposal).
• Assist with school improvements (fencing, paving, gardening).
• Complete daily grounds maintenance reports.
• Train new employees in groundskeeping duties.
• Drive school vehicles as required.

About the role:

• Part-time hours (worked across either 2 or 3 days per week)
• Maximum term contract, commencing immediately, until the end of 2027.

We seek self-motivated candidates who possess excellent communication skills & can work unsupervised as well as part of a team. Undertake maintenance and repair work to the school buildings and grounds to ensure a safe environment for the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure building systems and machines run smoothly e.g. air conditioning, pumps
• Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment
• Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken
• Handle, store, and distribute goods/materials
• Move equipment/furniture as required
• Upkeep school grounds e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter
• Assist with school improvements e.g. fencing, paving, gardening projects
• Complete daily grounds maintenance reports
• Train new employees in groundskeeping duties
• Drive school vehicles as required.

About the School:

Aspect HunterSchoolprovides placement forapproximately 270 students on the autism spectrumfrom Kindergarten to year 12 at its main school at Thornton, and across its satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in Newcastle, Hunter and Port Macquarie regions. Aspect Hunter School also offers a Distance Education program for students on the autism spectrum in years 3 to 8 from across NSW.
