Job summary

Doomadgee State School is seeking a capable general school support officer to assist with day-to-day operations and a range of maintenance tasks. You will help with supplies, classroom prep, grounds care and facility upkeep to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

Your role includes asset recording, security duties, mail handling and collaboration with school leadership to support instructional programs and student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general school support duties such as ordering and distributing supplies, photocopying, preparing classrooms and halls, moving furniture, delivering messages and assisting with agricultural facilities as required.
• Assist with grounds and cleaning tasks including waste removal, drain and gutter hosing, rubbish disposal, lawn mowing, garden care, oval maintenance and outdoor sporting facilities preparation.
• Manage school supplies, stocktaking, asset records and key registers, including recording and engraving equipment and furniture using the Edquip System.
• Perform general maintenance and facilities upkeep, arrange repairs, maintain grounds equipment, test and maintain swimming pool water quality, and identify safety hazards and repair needs.
• Support school security and operations by activating/disarming security systems, locking/unlocking buildings, handling mail and parcels, and liaising with the Principal.
