Job summary

Brinbeal Secondary College in Melbourne's west is seeking an Education Support Facilities Manager (ES 1-4) to coordinate daily operations, safety and presentation of the school’s buildings and assets. You will provide practical advice on maintenance priorities, compliance, and facilities risks within school policies.

The role is full-time with 7:30am–3:30pm hours; attendance during school holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High organisation and time management skills.
• High interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to work as a member of team.
• Experience in facilities, property, maintenance or operations management within a school or public sector is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in managing essential safety measures, contractor documentation and maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Facilities, Maintenance and Asset Management: lead and direct day-to-day work of Facilities Team members; oversee maintenance of facilities and equipment; coordinate planning and oversight of facilities, buildings, grounds and asset management activities.
• Prioritise maintenance, repairs and capital works based on risk and budgets, in consultation with the Business Manager and Principal.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance programs, inspections, work requests, record keeping and rectification processes; maintain asset, maintenance and compliance records in AIMS.
• Safety, Compliance and Risk: conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with OHS requirements, WorkSafe obligations and school policies.
• Contractor, Team and Service Management: oversee contractors and service providers, allocate tasks, coordinate scopes of work, quotes and milestones; monitor contractor performance and liaise with external stakeholders.
