Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Marketing Officer for a large Ipswich school to lead the planning and delivery of major events from Awards Night to Open Days. You will coordinate calendars, budgets and stakeholder engagements to ensure events meet high standards and align with school priorities.

You will work with the Business Manager, Principal and leadership team to improve processes and outcomes, fostering inclusive community involvement and ensuring timely reporting and documentation.

• Coordinating multiple priorities, managing resources, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the effective delivery of school operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the planning, organisation, and delivery of major school events, including Awards Night, ANZAC Day commemorations, Graduation ceremonies, Open Days, information evenings, school celebrations, recognition events, and other significant school activities.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive annual school events calendar, coordinating event schedules, planning milestones, resource requirements, and stakeholder responsibilities.
• Oversee event planning, including venue preparation, facilities coordination, equipment requirements, catering, guest invitations, registrations, event documentation, and contractor arrangements.
• Consult with the Principal, Executive Leadership Team, teaching and non-teaching staff, external providers, and community stakeholders to ensure events are professionally delivered and aligned with school priorities.
• Develop and implement event planning procedures, checklists, timelines, and evaluation processes to strengthen consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate event budgets, procurement activities, purchasing requirements, and expenditure monitoring in consultation with the Business Manager and relevant budget holders.
• Identify and manage operational risks associated with events, ensuring appropriate risk assessments, approvals and safety arrangements are completed.
• Review the effectiveness of school events and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency, stakeholder engagement, and resource utilisation.
