Job summary

Metro North Oral Health Services in Queensland is seeking a Dental Assistant to join the School Dental Service, providing chairside support and helping create a positive patient experience for children and families.

You will work with dentists, specialists and oral health practitioners, preparing rooms and equipment, maintaining infection control, and assisting with day-to-day operations of dental clinics in a dynamic clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Provide high standard chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures.
• Prepare instruments, equipment and materials for treatment.
• Support infection prevention and control processes including cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation and management of reusable medical devices.
• Assist with practice management and administrative tasks including patient management and workload coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring efficient and effective support for clinicians and patients.
• Prepare instruments, equipment and materials required for treatment, while maintaining a clean, organised and safe clinical environment.
• Support infection prevention and control processes, including cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation and management of reusable medical devices.
• Assist with practice management and administrative functions, including patient management, record keeping and workload coordination.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary oral health team to support patient wellbeing and service quality.
