Job summary

Metro North Health's Oral Health Services is seeking a Dental Assistant to support chairside care across school and community dental settings, delivering safe, high-quality treatment to children and young people.

You will prepare instruments, manage rooms, uphold infection control, and assist clinicians, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and contributing to smooth day-to-day operations in a dynamic clinic.

Qualifications

• Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures.
• Prepare instruments, equipment and materials for treatment.
• Support infection prevention and control processes.
• Assist with patient management and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary oral health team.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring efficient and safe support for clinicians and patients.
• Prepare instruments, equipment and materials required for treatment, maintaining a clean, organised clinical environment.
• Support infection prevention and control processes, including cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation and management of reusable devices.
• Assist with patient management and administrative functions, including record keeping and workload coordination.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary oral health team to support patient wellbeing and service quality.
