Job summary

Transport for NSW is hiring a School Crossing Supervisor for Ultimo Public School. This part-time, permanent role covers two daily crossing windows and involves ongoing community-facing responsibilities to keep children safe on local roads.

You will work 20 hours per fortnight, receive an hourly rate with superannuation, and be reimbursed during school holidays. Training and essential checks are provided to support your service to families.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old at time of appointment.
• Willingness to obtain Working with Children Check, Police Check and Health Assessment.
• All training, uniforms and equipment provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervise school crossings during peak hours (8:30–9:30 and 2:30–3:30).
• Ensure the safety of children, parents and drivers at the crossing.
• Represent Transport for NSW in the Ultimo Public School community with reliability and courtesy.

Ultimo Public School shifts fall between the school zone hours of 8:30AM – 9:30AM and 2:30PM – 3:30PM, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. School Crossings require 20 hours of supervising per fortnight.

You will receive an hourly rate along with superannuation, and you will also be compensated during school holidays from Terms 1 to 3.

You're a community minded person who would like to contribute.

You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community - in good or bad weather.

You’ll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.

Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided.

As you’ll be working with children on our roads, your willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment is vital. Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before, we will help you through the process! If you already have a Working with Children Check, that’s fantastic as that will speed up the process.
