Job summary

NSW Department of Education seeks a School Counsellor based at Narrandera High School to deliver counselling and psychology services to primary and high school students. You will join a multidisciplinary team, supervise sessions, and support families with learning and mental health needs.

The role involves collaboration with multiple school communities, ongoing professional development, and compliance with NSW educators’ registration requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment for students.
• Collaborate with school communities, teachers, families and external agencies.
• Engage in supervision and professional development within the district school counselling team.
• Prepare clear, concise reports and contribute to behaviour and wellbeing programs.
