Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a qualified school counsellor based at Griffith High School to provide counselling and psychological assessment for students, collaborating with teachers and families to support wellbeing and learning outcomes.

The role involves working with diverse student populations across NSW public schools, ongoing supervision and professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team with a strong emphasis on student safety and mental

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling with evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
• Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for diverse students.
• Must be a registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Willingness to travel between worksites and hold a valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessments for students at Griffith High School and across NSW public schools.
• Participate in supervision and professional development through district and department programs.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and external agencies to support student wellbeing and learning outcomes.
• Contribute as part of a multidisciplinary school counselling team and engage with diverse school communities.
