Job summary

Kinetic is seeking reliable and safety-conscious School Bus Drivers to join our Portsmith Depot in Cairns. This casual role offers 20–25 hours per week with a rate of $45.29 per hour, plus penalties where applicable.

We provide on-the-job training, a strong focus on customer service, and the opportunity to contribute to safe journeys for our passengers across the local area. Candidates must hold a MR license and be willing to obtain a DA, with rostered shifts Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Current MR driving license.
• Willing to obtain QLD Driver Authorisation (DA).
• Able to pass pre-employment checks and medical history.
• Australian work rights.

Responsibilities

• Drive school bus routes for Portsmith/Cairns; ensure passenger safety.
• Provide friendly, reliable customer service and fare handling where applicable.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and report vehicle faults promptly.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and contribute to safe journeys.

We are seeking reliable and safety-conscious School Bus Drivers to join our team at our Portsmith Depot - enjoy a rewarding role with great work-life balance and earn $45.29 per hour.

This role offers approximately 20-25 hours per week across split shifts.

• Position: Casual - School Bus Driver
• Rate: $45.29 per hour (casual rate), plus penalties where applicable.
• Location: Portsmith, Cairns
• Training: You will be trained to achieve high standards in all parts of your work including safe driving practices.
• Roster: We operate across 7 days throughout the local Townsville region and we are looking for our newest team member to have availability Monday - Friday (Split Shift) 20-25hrs per week with School Holidays Off.

With a strong focus on customer service and providing a safe journey for our passengers, our bus drivers are fully trained to play a vital part in all facets of customer service, ticket sales and a range of bus services.
