Job summary

Our Lady's RC Primary School in Perth is recruiting a dedicated School Support Worker to assist in daily school operations, including a Breakfast Club. The role involves caring for children, supervising activities, and supporting safeguarding and wellbeing within a team.

The position is fixed-term until 15 August 2027, offering term-time hours (6 per week) and a generous annual leave framework. Training will be provided to equip you for duties and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with children in paid or voluntary capacity.
• Caring, patient and positive attitude toward children.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work as part of a team and use initiative.
• Understanding safeguarding and promoting wellbeing of children.
• Reliable, punctual and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and health and safety (training can be provided).
• Committed to an inclusive environment where all children feel valued and respected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast.
• Supervise children during breakfast and encourage healthy eating.
• Support positive behaviour and provide a welcoming environment.
• Maintain a safe environment and assist with setting up and tidying resources and equipment.
• Support the smooth running of the Breakfast Club.
• Assist with administrative duties as required by school leadership.
