Job summary

St John’s RC Academy (Primary) in Perth is seeking a dedicated School Support Worker on a fixed-term basis until 29 June 2027. The role involves supporting children and families, assisting with senior leadership admin, and delivering targeted interventions to improve attendance and wellbeing.

The post requires flexibility and a commitment to inclusion and equity; sponsorship is not provided. This is a part-time, term-time only position at St John’s RC Academy.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people in a school, youth work or community setting.
• Experience of supporting families in challenging circumstances.
• Experience of delivering or supporting targeted interventions (e.g. literacy, numeracy, wellbeing or attendance).
• Experience of working within a school or education setting is desirable.
• Experience of supporting learners with additional support needs (ASN) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to children and families with additional support needs.
• Deliver interventions to improve attendance, wellbeing and engagement.
• Support school leadership with administrative duties to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and impact.
• Collaborate with staff and partner agencies.
