Job summary

WesTrac in Guildford, WA, is offering a School-Based Trainee Program for Year 10 students progressing to Year 11 in 2027. You will gain real workshop experience in automotive and mechanical trades while earning a national qualification.

The fixed-term traineeship lasts about 18 months, with one eight-hour day in the workshop each week and external training every third week, plus mentoring and progress reviews to support a future apprenticeship pathway.

Qualifications

• Current Year 10 student entering Year 11 in 2027.
• Interest in trade careers and learning in a safety-focused workplace.
• Willingness to follow instructions and complete inductions and training.

Responsibilities

• Attend work on rostered days and complete required training/inductions.
• Follow site safety procedures and WesTrac policies.
• Communicate openly and professionally with supervisors.
• Work under supervision and ask for help when unsure.
• Provide notice if unable to attend.
