Job summary

WesTrac in South Guildford, WA, seeks a Technical Trainer (Pre-Trade Trainer) to train, mentor and assess apprentices for successful trade careers. This role reports to the Pre-Trade Training Supervisor and involves safety-focused instruction and documentation.

The position requires a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or progress toward it, with related trade qualifications and experience in VET training. A strong commitment to diversity and continuous improvement is valued.

Qualifications

• Mentor and assess apprentices to build trade skills.
• Deliver training using approved programs and materials.
• Complete training records and assessments accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe training environment in line with safety standards.
• Deliver scheduled training to apprentices and participants.
• Develop and improve training resources with SMEs.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development for high-quality delivery.
• Review programs and participate in curriculum validation.
• Conduct reassessments and manage training holds as needed.
• Support apprentices throughout their learning journey.
