Job summary

Endeavour Hills Specialist School, part of the Department of Education Victoria, seeks a speech pathologist to deliver targeted services for students aged 5–18 with disabilities. The role emphasizes collaboration within a transdisciplinary team and alignment with Learning and teaching frameworks.

Selected candidate will develop, deliver and evaluate programs within the school’s instructional model and engage families to support communication across home and school contexts.

Qualifications

• Deliver speech pathology services to school-aged children with intellectual disability and/or ASD with language disorder to enable access to the curriculum.
• Apply best-practice strategies to improve outcomes for children with diverse disabilities.
• Collaborate with transdisciplinary teams to deliver relevant therapy within school models.
• Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) is desirable.
• Build effective, respectful relationships and model school values.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic services to students through education, assessment, support and intervention.
• Coordinate professional development for school staff.
• Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional learning.
• Articulate issues and perspectives in communication with colleagues and families.
• Contribute to classroom programs that support student participation, independence and skill development.
• Support junior staff within the therapy stream and provide leadership as needed.
• Collaborate with families to support communication at home and school.
