Job summary

Mirripoa Primary School in Mount Duneed near Geelong seeks an Occupational Therapist to join our team. You will assess students with complex needs and work with teachers, support staff and external services to create practical supports that enable engagement and participation in school activities.

You will build staff capacity through coaching and professional learning, manage a caseload, and contribute to inclusive environments across classrooms and the wider school community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience delivering occupational therapy to children/young people with complex needs.
• Ability to translate clinical knowledge into practical strategies in a school setting.
• Experience designing and delivering professional learning for school staff.
• Strong organisation to manage a caseload and priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a transdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create inclusive learning environments.
• Assess factors affecting student engagement and participation.
• Develop proactive supports with classroom teams.
• Create re-engagement plans for students facing attendance challenges.
• Support regulation, coping, executive function and social participation.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and coaching for staff.
• Provide professional learning for staff to support students with needs.
• Work with Allied Health, Wellbeing and Education teams.
• Develop Learning Plans and reports to support funding.
