Mount Lilydale Mercy College in Croydon, VIC is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our Learning Diversity team. The role focuses on applying clinical expertise to enhance participation, wellbeing and inclusion for secondary students in an educational setting.

You will work with the Learning Diversity Leader, teachers, support staff, counsellors and families to deliver practical, evidence-informed supports that help students thrive at school.

As part of an exciting investment in our Learning Diversity and professional services, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team.

About the role

This is an opportunity to bring your occupational therapy expertise into an educational setting and make a meaningful difference to the participation, engagement and wellbeing of young people.

Working closely with the Learning Diversity Leader, teachers, education support staff, counsellors, psychologists and families, you will provide practical, evidence-informed support that enables students to thrive at school.

Key responsibilities will include:

Conduct functional assessments and develop targeted interventions to support student participation, regulation and independence.

Work with teachers to develop practical classroom adjustments and inclusive strategies.

Support students individually and in small groups across areas including sensory processing, executive functioning, motor skills and self-regulation.

Contribute to personalised learning plans, PSG processes, NCCD requirements and VCAA special provisions.

Build staff capability through evidence-based strategies, professional learning and in-class coaching.

Collaborate with students, families, teachers and external providers to ensure coordinated and consistent support.

About You

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who can translate clinical expertise into practical, achievable strategies within a secondary school environment.

You will bring:

Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration, with a current Working with Children Check.

Experience working with adolescents, preferably in an educational setting, with knowledge of neurodevelopmental and learning needs including ADHD and ASD.

Strong expertise in sensory processing, regulation and executive functioning, with the ability to translate this into practical classroom and school-based strategies.

Highly developed communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently, while managing competing priorities.

Commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and inclusive education, with an understanding of Victorian education frameworks and NCCD requirements
