Job summary

Bechtel Perth is seeking an experienced Scheduling professional to join our project controls team. You will prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations and manage the schedule for a specific discipline, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

You will develop work breakdown structures, determine activity durations, and create proper workflow logic, while monitoring progress and reporting on critical path activities and schedule performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, scheduling, and control functions for large projects.
• Strong cost estimating, cost control, and financial reporting knowledge.
• Advanced understanding of engineering design, construction practices, and startup processes.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepares schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations
• Establishes and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialty
• Performs schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure
• Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties
• Develops critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics
• Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialty work activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements
• Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule
• Monitors and validates subcontractor schedules
• Evaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, and cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office
• Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and nontechnical personnel
• This includes planning and scheduling products independently with minimal supervision using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design and construction practices.
• Skilled in oral and written communication
• Demonstrates an advanced level of understanding of general Project Controls technical skills. Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes
• Must be willing to move to Perth
• Major construction project experience required
