Bechtel delivers large, complex projects worldwide and is expanding its Perth presence to support contract management activities for capital works in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent; 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Power BI a plus.
  • Strong financial reporting skills and ability to analyze data for management insight.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of project reporting packages, including Monthly Progress Reports and dashboards.
  • Coordinate KPI tracking and reporting; monitor progress against targets.
  • Administer Prime Contract daily activities; manage commercial assessments and log communications.
  • Track budget, forecast hours, cashflow and staffing; maintain resource change registers.
  • Maintain project risk and issues logs and support monthly risk reviews.
  • Engage in client meetings; build trust through direct stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to governance and continuous improvement efforts.

Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. Job Summary

In this role, you will work as an integral part of Bechtel's Contract Management Team on Project, and partner with Senior Project Leadership, to support administration of the Prime Contract, develop Monthly Progress Reports and operating dashboards, and track and report performance against contractual obligations. You will develop and maintain KPI trackers, engage regularly with senior leadership to capture program updates, and help ensure ongoing compliance with the Contract. Your work will give leadership high-level visibility of activity across the portfolio, identify areas for improvement, and provide a clear view of the project's financial and contractual position.

Major Responsibilities
  • Leading preparation of suite of periodic project reporting - Author and issue the Monthly Progress Report (MPR) against the Prime Contract's reporting obligations, internal weekly project status reporting, maintain reporting dashboards and contribute to regional and ad-hoc management reporting requirements and initiatives.
  • Coordinating management of contract deliverables including KPI tracking and reporting and ongoing management— Coordinate and report KPI performance, tracking progress, preparing substantiation and monitoring scoring. Work with senior management through routine check-ins to drive progress against targets.
  • Prime Contract administration — Reporting directly to the Prime Contract Manager, interpret and apply the Prime Contract day to day; prepare commercial assessments; manage contractual correspondence and maintain the key correspondence log; track directions, scope variations and trends.
  • Financial and resourcing tracking — Monitor budget, forecast, hours, contingency usage, cashflow and invoicing; maintain the resource change register; and track mobilisation and retention data against the approved staffing plan.
  • Risk and issues management — Maintain the project risk register and issues log, support monthly Program risk reviews, and surface emerging issues and key decisions to leadership.
  • Customer relationship and stakeholder management — Act as a regular voice in customer-facing meetings, support client discussions and negotiations, and build trust through sustained, direct engagement with counterpart client teams.
  • Contribute to governance and continuous improvement requirements
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) desirable and/or 2–5 years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge And Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; proficiency in Power BI is a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting, with the ability to identify trends and draw analysis from raw data sets, and present findings to management in a clear and practical way.
  • Demonstrated initiative and independence, with the ability to progress work without relying on direction from leadership.
  • Intermediate knowledge of project execution.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Able to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure across multiple simultaneous workloads.
  • Able to operate with a high level of discretion when working with confidential information
