Job summary

Hastings Deering is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our Services Support Team in a permanent, full-time role (Monday–Friday). You’ll build and maintain accurate schedules, track progress, and identify risks early across Hastings Deering equipment programs.

As the SME in planning and scheduling, you will collaborate with project owners, supervisors and operational stakeholders to embed best practices, balance demand with capacity, and improve delivery across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience planning/scheduling in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
• Ability to communicate, navigate and influence across different stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery excellence – Drive On Time, In Full outcomes through execution-ready service schedules.
• Plan with precision – Balance demand, labour, parts and workshop capacity to build practical schedules.
• Be the SME – Act as Planning & Scheduling subject matter expert, uplifting capability and consistency across the business.
• Support branches without schedulers by providing scheduling support and embedding structure.
• Coordinate scheduling across Equipment Assembly, Rebuilds and key service teams.
• Set jobs up for success by aligning schedules with parts availability, capacity and priorities.
• Shape best practice – Contribute to enterprise-wide planning initiatives and standardise processes.
• Unlock efficiency – Identify bottlenecks and optimize workflows to keep work moving.
• Boost performance – Partner with leaders to improve utilization and delivery confidence.
• Turn data into action – Use Power BI insights and schedule reporting for proactive decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement – Build scalable scheduling processes.

Are you a detail-driven professional who thrives on keeping projects on track? Hastings Deering is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our Services Support Team in a permanent, full-time role (Monday–Friday).

You’ll work closely with Project Owners, Supervisors, and Operational stakeholders to build and maintain accurate schedules, track progress, and identify risks early across Hastings Deering equipment (e.g., Machine Rebuilds, Planned Component Rebuild programs, and more).

Beyond individual projects, you’ll work closely with operational teams to embed practical best practice scheduling, helping improve how work flows, strengthening planning discipline and enabling more predictable delivery across the business.

What You’ll Deliver On:

• Set jobs up for success – Ensure work is execution ready by aligning schedules with parts availability, capacity and operational priorities.
• Shape best practice – Contribute to enterprise wide planning initiatives and standardise scalable scheduling processes.
• Unlock efficiency – Identify bottlenecks, optimise workflows and keep work moving across the value chain.
• Boost performance – Partner with leaders to improve utilisation, productivity, turnaround times and delivery confidence.
• Turn data into action – Use Power BI insights and schedule reporting to enable proactive, informed decisions.

About You

You’re motivated, organised, and confident in managing project schedules. Ideally you’ll bring:

• Experience planning/scheduling in mining, construction, or heavy industry
• Knowledge of rebuilds/equipment assembly (desirable)
• Ability to communicate, navigate and influence across different stakeholder groups
