Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Chemical Engineer to lead new product scale-up at their Queenstown facility. You will translate lab discoveries into scalable manufacturing processes, working with R&D and production teams to design, pilot, and implement new chemical processes.

The role emphasizes piloting, data analysis, and risk assessments to ensure safe, efficient commercialization of new chemistries. Strong project management and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in process development and scale-up.
• Experience with pilot plant operations and experimental design.
• Strong understanding of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation technologies.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the scale-up of new chemical products from laboratory to pilot and commercial production.
• Design and execute pilot plant trials, collecting and analyzing data to validate process parameters.
• Develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications for new processes.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safe operating procedures for new product introductions.
• Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams on equipment selection and plant design.
• Troubleshoot scale-up challenges and implement solutions to ensure successful commercialization.
