Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mineral Processing Engineer to join the on-site team in Queenstown. You will oversee processing circuits, optimize comminution, flotation, leaching, and separation, and drive continuous improvement to maximize recovery and efficiency.
The role requires a strong background in chemical/physical processes for mineral extraction, with 8+ years in processing operations and experience with METSIM or JKsimMet.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of mineral processing operations experience with base metals, precious metals, or industrial minerals.
- Experience in process design, operation, and troubleshooting of mineral processing unit operations.
- Proficiency with METSIM or JKsimMet for process simulation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee operation and performance of mineral processing plants to meet targets and specs.
- Troubleshoot process upsets, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct process audits and drive efficiency, cost savings, and yield improvements.
- Lead or contribute to process design changes and capital projects for upgrades.
- Develop and maintain process simulation models to optimize plant performance.
- Ensure safety, health, and environmental regulations are followed on-site.
