HRMU Scaffolding & Labour Hire is seeking a Senior Scaffolding Supervisor to own site operations across multiple Sydney projects, leading crews and ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery.

You will work with builders, site supervisors, engineers and clients, enforcing Australian Standards and WHS, reading scaffold drawings, and managing pre-starts, toolbox talks, inspections and handovers. Long-term growth with a strong, supportive team.

Senior Scaffolding Supervisor – Commercial Projects | Sydney Metro

$150,000–$160,000 + Company Vehicle + Fuel + Tolls

The Opportunity

Golden Hire Recruitment is partnering with HRMU Scaffolding & Labour Hire, a rapidly growing Sydney scaffolding business with a strong reputation for safe, engineered and high-quality scaffolding solutions.

With an expanding pipeline of commercial, residential and industrial projects across Greater Sydney, HRMU is looking for an experienced Senior Scaffolding Supervisor to take ownership of site operations, lead multiple crews and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee scaffolding operations across multiple Sydney projects, ensuring crews are properly planned, resourced and supported.

You will provide hands‑on leadership to Leading Hands, Scaffolders and Labourers while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity and client satisfaction.

You will also act as a key link between the site teams, builders, engineers, logistics and HRMU management.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and coordinate multiple scaffold crews across commercial projects.
• Oversee Leading Hands and provide direction to scaffolders and labourers.
• Allocate work according to skills, experience and project priorities.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members.
• Address performance and behavioural issues professionally.
• Lead by example and maintain a strong safety-first culture.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

• Ensure all scaffolding works comply with relevant Australian Standards, WHS requirements and approved engineering designs.
• Conduct and oversee pre-starts, toolbox talks and hazard assessments.
• Identify hazards and implement appropriate controls.
• Stop work where unsafe conditions exist.
• Oversee scaffold inspections, tagging and handover processes.
• Complete and maintain required documentation, including SWMS, inspection records, handover certificates and daily reports.
• Ensure scaffolding is erected, altered and dismantled by appropriately licensed personnel.

Technical Scaffolding

• Read and interpret scaffold drawings, engineering designs and work packs.
• Oversee complex scaffolding projects, including hung, suspended, cantilevered and confined-space scaffolds.
• Ensure correct bracing, ties, platforms, access and other technical requirements are maintained.
• Identify site conditions requiring engineering clarification or design review.
• Liaise with engineers where site conditions differ from approved designs.
• Ensure no unauthorised changes are made to engineered scaffolding.

Project & Operational Delivery

• Ensure projects are properly planned, resourced and delivered efficiently.
• Coordinate materials and equipment with operations, logistics and yard teams.
• Monitor productivity, quality and project progress.
• Liaise with builders, site supervisors, foremen and clients regarding scaffold readiness, access and variations.
• Identify and report delays, hazards, incidents and resource requirements to the Operations Manager.
• Support the business in maintaining project margins and operational targets.

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a proven scaffolding supervisor.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Scaffolding Supervisor, Scaffold Supervisor, Scaffolding Foreman or Senior Leading Hand within a scaffolding company.
• Strong commercial scaffolding experience – essential.
• High Risk Work Licence – SI minimum; SA highly regarded.
• Extensive hands‑on scaffolding experience.
• Experience supervising multiple crews or larger projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and WHS requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret scaffold drawings and engineering documentation.
• Strong understanding of scaffold inspections, tagging and handover requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with builders, engineers and clients.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage challenging situations.
• A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to get involved on site when required.
