Job summary

KJ Industrial Scaffolding is seeking reliable Yardperson/Labourers to work in our scaffold yards in Wollongong. This is a physical role involving regular manual handling of scaffold components in an industrial yard environment. Training is provided; experience is not essential.

You will work alongside the Yard Leading Hand and report to the Yard Supervisor, with overtime opportunities and a path to permanent full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual handling.
• Strong safety focus and able to follow procedures.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable, punctual and works well in a team.
• Clear communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Willing to learn new systems; basic computer skills helpful.
• Legal right to work in Australia; able to pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Picking, counting, tagging and preparing scaffold materials for dispatch.
• Manual handling of scaffold components including tubes, boards and fittings.
• Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently.
• Weighing and checking materials to ensure accuracy.
• Entering material movements into the online system.
• Inspecting materials for damage and reporting issues.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard.
• Following all safe work procedures, site rules and PPE requirements.

KJ Industrial Scaffolding is seeking reliable and safety-focused Yardperson/Labourers to work in our scaffold yards. This is a physical role involving regular manual handling of scaffold components and working in an industrial yard environment.
We will provide training experience is not essential.

You will work alongside the Yard Leading Hand and report to the Yard Supervisor.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Picking, counting, tagging and preparing scaffold materials for dispatch
• Manual handling of scaffold components including tubes, boards and fittings
• Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently
• Weighing and checking materials to ensure accuracy
• Accurately entering material movements into our online system
• Inspecting materials for damage and reporting any issues
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard
• Following all safe work procedures, site rules and PPE requirements

Skills & Experience:

• Is physically fit and capable of repetitive manual handling
• Has a strong focus on safety and follows procedures
• Has good attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy
• Works well both independently and as part of a team
• Communicates clearly and follows instructions
• Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic
• Has basic computer skills and is willing to learn new systems

Mandatory Requirements:

• Legal right to work in Australia
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and audio test

Preferred but not essential:

• NSW Driver’s Licence (MR/HR/HC advantageous)
• Forklift licence (or willing to get)
• Experience in scaffolding, construction or yard operations
