Job summary

Talent International in Newcastle is seeking an SAP & Data Project Coordinator to join the Inventory Management team on a 12-14 month contract. The role focuses on supporting day-to-day inventory activities and data accuracy while coordinating SAP-related tasks across NSW and Queensland.

Three to four days per week in the Newcastle office with the remainder from home, standard hours, and close collaboration with the broader Procurement and Supply Chain function.

About the role

Our client is seeking an SAP & Data Project Coordinator to join its Inventory Management team in Newcastle.

The business currently uses SAP across its Queensland operations and a separate inventory platform in New South Wales. It is now in the early planning stages of moving both states onto SAP.

Several members of the existing team will spend approximately 50% of their time supporting this project. The successful candidate will backfill their day-to-day responsibilities across inventory, supply chain and data management.

The Inventory Management team sits within the broader Procurement and Supply Chain function. It consists of eight people across Newcastle and Brisbane and manages inventory across both New South Wales and Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day inventory-management activities

• Maintain inventory and master data

• Work with data and reporting across SAP and Excel

• Assist with inventory planning and supply-chain processes

• Review data for accuracy and resolve inconsistencies

• Support team members across the Newcastle and Brisbane offices

Skills and experience

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• At least two years of relevant experience across SAP, supply chain, inventory or data management

• Practical experience using SAP

• Strong Excel skills

• Solid data-management experience

• Experience working with inventory or master data

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills

Experience with SAP Materials Management would be beneficial, although highly specialised SAP knowledge is not required. A sound working foundation in SAP will be sufficient.

Previous mining or heavy-industry experience would be advantageous. Candidates from manufacturing, logistics or other operational industries will also be considered.

Working arrangements

The role is based in Newcastle, with three to four days per week in the office and the flexibility to work from home for the remaining one to two days.

Standard working hours will be approximately 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The interview process is expected to involve one or two stages, beginning with a face-to-face interview in Newcastle.
