Job summary

Experis Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join a large enterprise undergoing SAP transformation. You will design, develop, and support SAP ABAP solutions across ECC and S/4HANA, building interfaces and modern user experiences.

The role involves REST, SOAP and OData integrations, SAPUI5/Fiori apps, and gateway services, with middleware exposure to SAP CPI and MuleSoft. Collaboration with analysts, functional consultants and technical teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SAP ABAP development
• Experience with OO ABAP and Enhancement Framework
• Proficient in SAPUI5/Fiori
• Strong integration skills (OData, SAP Gateway, RFC/BAPI)
• Experience with middleware like MuleSoft or SAP CPI/Integration Suite

Responsibilities

Job description

We're partnering with a large, complex enterprise undergoing significant SAP transformation and enhancement initiatives. They are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join a high-performing team delivering critical SAP solutions across both project and operational environments.

In this role, you'll work closely with business analysts, functional consultants and technical teams to design, develop and support scalable SAP solutions, integrations and modern user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and support SAP ABAP solutions across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments
• Develop reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms and workflows
• Build and support REST, SOAP and OData-based integrations
• Develop and enhance SAPUI5 and Fiori applications
• Support SAP Gateway services and enterprise API development
• Work with integration platforms including SAP CPI, MuleSoft and similar middleware technologies
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP development and integration issues
• Participate in code reviews, performance optimisation and technical documentation
• Ensure solutions align with SAP development standards and S/4HANA best practices

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience as an SAP ABAP Developer
• Object-Oriented ABAP
• User Exits, BAdIs and Enhancement Framework
• SmartForms, Adobe Forms and SAPScript
• Function Modules and ALV Reporting
• Proven experience with SAP integrations including:
• OData Services
• SAP Gateway
• RFC/BAPI
• IDocs
• XML/JSON
• Experience integrating SAP with external platforms via middleware technologies such as MuleSoft, SAP CPI/Integration Suite, Dell Boomi or similar
• Strong understanding of API design principles and enterprise integration patterns
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 experience highly regarded
• Experience within large and complex organisations highly desirable
