Job summary

Strategic Bridging Global Pty Ltd – Dubbo NSW is seeking an experienced Production Long Hole Driller for underground operations. The role operates on a 7/7 days/nights on/off roster with residential or DIDO options from Central Western NSW areas, meals and accommodation provided during the assignment.

The ideal candidate has extensive Sandvik long-hole drilling experience, reads plans, adheres to OH&S, and can meet daily metre targets while coordinating with the drilling team.

Qualifications

• Underground long-hole drilling experience with Sandvik/Epiroc rigs.
• Certifications in drilling operations and underground mining are required.
• Ability to read drill plans and interpret stopes accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground long-hole production drill rigs (Sandvik).
• Drill production blast holes per approved plans.
• Perform uphole, downhole, fan and parallel drilling as required.
• Maintain hole accuracy, depth and deviation.
• Meet daily/weekly metre targets and ensure safety SOPs.
• Conduct cross-shift handovers and complete drill plans.

$85 - $95 / hour (Neg*) + Super (on all hours worked)!

Seeking an experienced Sandvik production long hole driller to join their underground drilling team, 7/7 days/nights on/off, residential based or 7/7 DIDO from Central Western NSW areas with accommodation/meals provided for the duration of assignment.

Currently, they are seeking an experienced Production Long Hole Driller to join their underground southern ore zone operations on a DIDO 1-week-on, 1-week-off rotating roster from surrounding areas of central western, central tablelands, and/or from far western regional areas of NSW.

This position is particularly suitable for candidates who possess a strong background in underground Automine Sandvik/ Epiroc Production long hole drilling experience.

Requirements:

• Operate underground long-hole production drill rigs, including Sandvik DL421, DL422 and i-series.
• Drill production blast holes according to approved drill plans and designs.
• Perform uphole, downhole, fan and parallel drilling as required.
• Maintain drilling accuracy, including hole alignment, depth and deviation.
• Achieve daily and weekly drilling metre targets.
• Conducts cross shift handover with outgoing driller
• Completes the Drill Plan accurately,with adequate detail as per client site standards / requirements.
• Adhere strictly to underground mine SOP and OH&S protocols compliance and hazard management requirements.
• You must hold Certificate III & IV in Drilling Operations/Underground Metalliferous Mining (production long hole drilling), relevants Sandvik production drill rigs RPLs/practical assessment SOA, with strong ability to read plans, interpret stopes, and adjust for up/down hole conditions while following safety and emergency protocols. Strong communication skills are essential for building client relationships. Additional licences and training such as Forklift/HR, Work at Heights, Hazard Recognition & Controls, remote/autonomous tech, and cable bolting are highly valued. A resilient, can-do attitude and proven proficiency operating Sandvik or Epiroc equivalents long hole drilling rigs safely and efficiently are required.
