Job summary

SGS Australia operates a Kalgoorlie laboratory providing testing, inspection and certification services. The successful candidate will perform sample preparation, weighing, sorting and milling, with strict attention to QA and containment.

Training is provided, and the role is not FIFO; the roster includes day and night shifts in a lab environment. Ideal applicants will have prior laboratory experience, be physically fit, and demonstrate good teamwork and communication.

• Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
• Strong teamwork and effective communication.
• Physically fit for required tasks.
• Must meet site access requirements (training, induction, medical)

Responsibilities

• Unload, load, sort and weigh samples on drying racks.
• Reconcile samples with submission form and deliveries.
• Mill samples and transfer sub‑samples to packets, ensuring order and QC.
• Offload deliveries and reconcile stock movements.
• Obtain sample clearances and collect samples from storage when required.

Job Description

SGS are seeking a keen enthusiastic person to fill the sample preparer role at our laboratory in Kalgoorlie. Our culture is a focused and supportive one, and we are genuinely committed to making it a great place to work for all employees. Good literacy, team playing, attention to detail and initiative are required. Full training is provided.This is not a FIFO position.Roster for this position includes day and night shifts.

Responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:

• Unloading, loading, sorting and weighing of samples onto drying racks
• Reconcile samples delivered with the supplied sample submission form listing extras and those not received onto the sample sorting sheet
• Responsible for milling samples and transferring sub-samples to sample packets while maintaining numerical order and following established quality control procedures and avoiding contamination.
• Responsible for offloading of sample and stock deliveries and reconcile the deliveries.
• Responsible for sample clearances after completion of analysis and collecting of samples from the storage yard when requested

Qualifications

As the successful candidate you will have:

• Previous Laboratory experience (Preferred)
• Teamwork and cooperation with effective communication
• Physically fit due to required tasks.
• Meet site access requirements (ie: training, induction and medical requirements)
