Job summary

Australian Laboratory Services Pty Ltd is seeking multiple Sample Preparers for our Geochemistry site in Pooraka, SA. This casual role supports mining and exploration clients by preparing samples for testing in a dusty environment, including crushing, splitting and pulverising mineral samples.

Flexibility to work either the 6:30 am–2:30 pm or 2:30 pm–10:30 pm shift is required. Full training is provided and opportunities exist for multi-skilling and progression within the department.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work full time hours and full rotating rosters.
• Ability to follow set procedures.
• Have excellent attention to detail.
• Be willing to work as part of a high-performance team with a focus on quality & safety.
• Be reliable, physically fit, and prepared to carry out repetitive manual handling task.

Responsibilities

• Operate various sample preparation equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Sort received samples per client submission form and note discrepancies.
• Apply barcode labels to sorted samples and capture received weights.
• Transfer scanned samples to drying racks and crush, riffle, split and sieve as directed.
• Operate pulverising mills to meet end-product specs.
• Inform supervisor of issues and maintain machinery and work areas.
