Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is recruiting a Sample Management Officer at graduate/entry level in Girraween, NSW. Responsibilities include maintaining sample rooms, coordinating disposal, and ensuring orderly storage while supporting the lab team.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8AM–4PM, with an extra 1.5% superannuation on top of the standard rate. Candidates must have work rights for Australia and ability to engage in a technical lab environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Science degree is required or advantageous.
• Master’s level qualifications are preferred.
• Strong numeracy and financial skills are desirable.
• Ability to operate in technical environments and processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure water, soil and hold sample rooms are up to date and orderly.
• Maintain soil long term storage and ensure timely disposal of samples.
• Disposal of water, soil and biosecurity samples under supervision.
• Facilitate smooth throughput of samples through the laboratory.
• Assist in organizing submissions and initial business plans.

Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. Sample Management Officer - Graduate / Entry Level | Full-Time | Girraween, NSW

Shift times:

• Monday to Friday; 8AM to 4PM

An extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of National standard rate.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Sample Management Officer is responsible for ensuring that all samples effectively pass through the laboratory in an orderly fashion, that they are easily accessible by laboratory staff, and that they are removed from refrigeration and put in storage or disposed of, once completed. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Ensure “water samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
• Ensure “soil samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
• Ensure “hold samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
• Ensure soil samples long term storage is kept up to date and orderly.
• Disposal of Water Samples.
• Disposal of Soil Samples.
• Disposal of Biosecurity Samples, under supervision.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will obtain the following:

• Engineering or Science qualifications and/or university master’s level qualifications, will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel. General knowledge about systems, IT architecture and production control, will be an advantage.
• Strong numeracy and financial skills.
• General preference and comfort in technical environments.
• Ability to build and structure business plans, submissions and initiatives.
• Desire to continually learn and improve.
• An entrepreneurial spirit, with an eagerness to take the next step.
