Job summary

Xero in Melbourne is seeking a Platform Lead Engineer to partner with the Engineering Manager to shape the technical vision for our Salesforce platform and translate it into a concrete action plan. You'll own strategy and delivery, setting direction in ambiguity and delivering outcomes that make the platform faster, safer, and more reliable for teams building on it.

You will model engineering excellence, stay hands-on, mentor engineers across pods, and push bold platform architecture.

Qualifications

Experience delivering and operating Salesforce solutions at enterprise scale.
Ability to define and execute a technical vision with a hands-on approach.
Proven track record in security posture ownership and platform governance.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and coaching engineers.

Responsibilities

Refine the platform's technical vision with the EM and translate into executable steps.
Own cross-cutting security posture and governance decisions.
Lead CI/CD and release engineering across major release cycles.
Own data governance, GDPR compliance, and data handling standards.
Maintain and grow observability and manage platform limits.
Oversee the D360 pipeline integration with the Salesforce platform.
Set direction for AI operations including agent registry and observability.
Contribute to engineering standards and enablement across pods.
