Job summary

Dutton Automotive is offering a 6-month Sales Trainee program in Queensland. You will rotate across Albion, Southport and Underwood, gaining hands-on experience in the complete automotive sales process and interacting with diverse customers.

This program prepares you for long-term opportunities within the Dutton One Queensland network. Ideal candidates show ambition, a passion for cars, and strong communication skills; prior automotive experience is not required.

Are you ambitious, customer-focused and looking to build a career in automotive sales?

Dutton One is looking for a motivated Sales Trainee to join our Queensland Retail team as part of a structured six-month development program.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn the automotive retail business from the ground up, receiving hands-on training and practical experience across our three Queensland Dutton One locations:

• Albion
• Southport

Throughout the six-month program, you will rotate across the three dealerships, giving you exposure to different teams, customers and dealership environments while developing a strong understanding of the complete automotive sales process.

The rotation will also provide additional support across our Queensland retail network where required, so flexibility to work across all three locations will be an important part of the role.

What you'll learn

Working alongside experienced automotive sales and operational leaders, you will develop practical skills across:

• The complete Road to a Sale (RTAS) process.
• Customer engagement and relationship building.
• Understanding customer needs and matching them with the right vehicle.
• Prestige and luxury vehicle sales.
• Prospecting and developing new customer opportunities.
• Sales negotiation and closing techniques.
• Vehicle presentation and product knowledge.
• Customer follow-up and relationship management.
• Dealership processes, systems and compliance.
• Working collaboratively with Sales, Finance and dealership operations teams.

You'll receive hands-on coaching and support throughout the program, with the opportunity to build the skills and confidence required to develop a long-term career in automotive retail.

What we're looking for

You don't necessarily need previous automotive sales experience. We're looking for someone with the attitude, drive and potential to become a successful automotive salesperson.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• A genuine interest in developing a career in automotive sales.
• A passion or strong interest in cars, particularly prestige and luxury vehicles.
• Previous experience in sales, retail, hospitality or customer service would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with different customers.
• A customer-first mindset and commitment to providing an exceptional experience.
• A willingness to learn, take feedback and continuously develop.
• A proactive, energetic and results-focused approach.
• Professional presentation and the ability to represent the Dutton One brand.
• Flexibility and willingness to rotate between Albion, Underwood and Southport throughout the six-month program.
• A current driver's licence.

For the right person who successfully completes the program and demonstrates strong performance, there may be an opportunity to progress into a Sales Executive position within the Dutton One Queensland retail network, subject to business requirements.
