Job summary

Barker Trailers is seeking a motivated Sales Trainee to join our team in Australia. You will support day-to-day sales activities, engage customers, and gain hands-on experience across sales, manufacturing, engineering, parts and service.

You will receive training, coaching and practical experience while building strong customer relationships, refining sales techniques and contributing to market research and lead generation.

Qualifications

• Completion of Year 12 VCE or equivalent.
• Strong interest in developing a career in sales.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Eagerness to learn, adapt and apply feedback in a target-driven environment.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Problem-solving skills and a professional approach to customer questions or concerns.
• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with sales, marketing and management colleagues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the Sales Manager and sales team with day-to-day sales activities, customer communication and sales administration.
• Learn and apply sales techniques through training, coaching and practical experience.
• Identify potential customers, conduct market research and generate leads.
• Support client meetings, sales calls, presentations and proposals.
• Build relationships with customers, prospects and internal teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Administration and Management.
• Gain hands-on experience within manufacturing, engineering, parts and service teams.
• Learn company products and services and communicate their value clearly to customers.
• Prepare and distribute sales materials and update customer records, orders and sales data as required.
• Respond to customer enquiries and provide high standard of customer service.
• Gather customer feedback and share insights with the sales team and management.
