Job summary

Mainfreight is seeking a motivated Sales Cadet in our Beresfield, Newcastle branch to launch a long-term career in international logistics. This structured cadetship provides exposure to operations, customer service, administration and sales with a clear pathway into a Business Development Executive (BDE) or Customer Development Executive (CDE) role upon completion.

Qualifications

• No previous sales or supply chain experience required.
• We are looking for individuals who are curious, motivated, and committed to building a long-term sales career.
• Some of our best salespeople have come from customer service roles, recent high school or university graduates, or career-change backgrounds.
• If you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach.
• A strong interest in sales and consultative selling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An interest in data and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Operations: Learning our business hands on, checking, loading and securing freight on local Pick Up and Delivery fleet and Linehaul units.
• Customer Service: Handling data entry, customer enquiries, and daily internal and external communication.
• Administration: Assist with the financial side of the business including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Sales: Providing quotes, supporting tender responses, shadowing customer calls.
