Job summary

Pacific Furniture & Bedding is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our Lithgow showroom on a part-time basis (two days per week: Mondays and Tuesdays). You will help create a welcoming shopping experience and support the showroom operations.

Your duties include greeting customers, demonstrating product features, processing sales at the POS, keeping the showroom tidy, and assisting with the delivery schedule while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience in furniture/homeware preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a friendly, professional manner.
• Attention to detail and high standards of presentation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move furniture if required.
• Experience with POS systems and Excel.

Pacific Furniture & Bedding is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team in Lithgow NSW. This is a part-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your retail expertise in the furniture and bedding industry. As a Sales Assistant, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming shopping experience for our customers whilst supporting the wider retail operations of our store. You will work collaboratively with the team to ensure our showroom is well-maintained, products are effectively displayed, and customers receive attentive service that encourages them to make informed purchasing decisions. The role is 2 days per week, on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Key responsibilities

Greeting customers as they enter the store and assisting them in finding products that meet their needs

Demonstrating product features and benefits, particularly relating to furniture comfort, durability and value

Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the store's point-of-sale system

Maintaining a clean, organised and visually appealing showroom environment

Responding to customer enquiries and addressing any concerns with professionalism and courtesy

Following company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations

Assistance with the fortnightly customer delivery truck schedule

What we're looking for

Previous retail or customer service experience, preferable in furniture, homeware or a similar retail environment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly and professional manner

A keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain high standards of presentation and organisation

Physical capability to stand for extended periods and move some furniture items around the showroom if required

Previous use of a Point of Sale system and familiarity with excel
