Job summary

ROUSSOS Recruitment is partnering with a national commercial builder delivering a diverse range of high-rise, education, retail, and mixed-use projects across SA. They seek a Safety Supervisor to join the project delivery team and drive a practical, proactive safety culture on site.

You will work with Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors to embed safety into daily delivery, supported by leaders fostering your development toward Safety Management as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years' experience within a construction safety position.
• Previous exposure to commercial construction.
• Certificate IV in WHS or relevant safety qualifications.
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and compliance.
• ICAM or incident investigation experience.
• Exposure to apartments, high-rise, crane operations or other high-risk environments will be highly regarded.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with trades, subcontractors and senior project leaders.
• A collaborative approach with the ability to hold people accountable when required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating site inductions, toolbox talks, audits and risk assessments.
• Monitoring site activities and identifying potential hazards before they become issues.
• Leading and supporting incident investigations, including ICAM processes.
• Working closely with subcontractors and site teams to improve safety performance.
• Reviewing SWMS and ensuring compliance with project and legislative requirements.
• Supporting safety across high-risk activities, crane operations and complex construction environments.
• Maintaining accurate WHS documentation, reporting and registers.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
• Promoting a practical and positive safety culture throughout the site.

The Opportunity

ROUSSOS Recruitment is partnering with an established national commercial builder delivering a diverse pipeline of projects across high-rise apartments, education, retail, mixed-use and commercial construction.

With continued growth across South Australia, they are looking for a Safety Supervisor to join their project delivery team and help drive a proactive, practical and positive approach to safety on site.

This is a business where safety isn't treated as a box-ticking exercise. You will work closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure safety is embedded into day-to-day project delivery.

Importantly, you will be supported by experienced leaders who will continue developing your technical capability and provide a genuine pathway towards Safety Management as your experience grows.

The Role

As Safety Supervisor, you will take an active presence on site, building strong relationships with project teams and ensuring WHS standards are consistently maintained.

You will be a construction safety professional who enjoys being visible on site, building relationships and influencing people, rather than simply managing safety from behind a desk.

You will ideally bring

• 2–3+ years' experience within a construction safety position
• Previous exposure to commercial construction
• Certificate IV in WHS or relevant safety qualifications
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and compliance
• ICAM or incident investigation experience
• Exposure to apartments, high-rise, crane operations or other high-risk environments will be highly regarded
