Job summary

Hancock Iron Ore is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Superintendent to join the Roy Hill Mine. You will lead and develop a team of Health & Safety Advisors, partnering with mine leaders to strengthen risk management and implement practical safety controls.

You will drive safety system improvements, conduct risk-based audits and ensure actions are closed with leadership. This role requires field presence and close collaboration with operations on a FIFO roster.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety or Risk Management.
• Extensive experience leading health and safety in mining or similar complex environment.
• Demonstrated experience coaching and developing a health and safety team.
• Strong knowledge of applicable legislation and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Health & Safety Advisors, building a team that stakeholders value.
• Partner with management to identify risks and strengthen practical controls.
• Maintain a visible field presence and inform improvement priorities.
• Guide the implementation and improvement of safety systems and training.
• Deliver risk-based audits and close out actions with leaders.
• Support incident reporting and investigations to drive learning.
