Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a policy-driven analyst to join the safety policy team. You will conduct research, analysis and stakeholder engagement on safety issues affecting point-to-point transport, and help develop evidence-based safety policy, measures and standards.

In this role, you'll:

Work as part of a team delivering research, analysis and stakeholder engagement on safety issues affecting the point-to-point transport industry, and the development of evidence-based safety policy, safety measures and standards.

This role will see you undertake research, analysis and stakeholder engagement on safety issues, contribute to the development of evidence-based safety policy, recommend new or revised safety measures and standards, develop policy and guidance materials, monitor safety and compliance trends, project manage the development, implementation and evaluation of safety standards, and provide policy advice to stakeholders.

You will develop, collaborate and project manage evidence-based policy options, safety measures, industry safety standards and improved safety compliance outcomes in a dynamic regulatory environment with competing priorities, tight timeframes, complex safety issues and a broad range of stakeholders.

About you

Your policy analysis, research, implementation, stakeholder engagement and safety policy development skills formed across regulatory environments involving policy, standards, frameworks, programs and projects will see you excel in managing competing priorities, developing practical risk-based policy recommendations, translating complex regulatory and safety issues into clear information, and bringing evidence-based policy development and project management to lead to improved safety compliance, effective regulatory responses, new or revised industry safety standards and future safety initiatives.

You’re recognized as an adept collaborator, influencer and problem solver, skilled at researching, analysing, developing and implementing safety policy, experienced in developing and implementing safety policies, standards, frameworks, programs and projects in a regulatory environment.
