Job summary

ACCIONA in NSW is seeking Safety Managers to join our Tier 1 contracting operations. This role offers clear career growth, rewarding salary structures, and annual salary reviews across major projects.

You will provide strategic HSEQ direction, lead audits, manage risk assessments, and advise on safety, quality and environment. Tertiary WH&S qualifications and 7–10 years of field experience are required, with Lead Auditor credentials preferred.

• 7–10 years hands-on safety management experience in operational settings.
• Lead Auditor qualifications desirable; auditing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and required HSEQ reports across the project.
• Coordinate and undertake regular audits and inspections of safety systems.
• Conduct risk assessments for tasks and activities to mitigate exposure.
• Offer timely safety, quality and environmental advice and support.
• Lead reviews and continuous improvements of safety documentation.

The Opportunity

We are putting out an expression of interest for Safety Managers who wish to join our NSW business.

Key accountabilities

• Provide strategic direction and required reports for HSEQ across the project
• Coordinate and undertake regular audits and inspections covering management systems, safe work procedures, behavioral safety and preventative measures
• Undertake thorough risk assessments of and assess all tasks and activities
• Provide timely and expert Safety, Quality and Environmental advice and assistance
• Take a lead role in the review and continuous improvement of our safety documentation

Required Skills and Competencies

• Tertiary level or equivalent qualifications in WH&S management
• 7 - 10 years operational experience in the application of safety management principles
• Lead Auditor qualifications in WH&S management systems
• Working knowledge of HS&E and Work Cover requirements and implementation
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
• Knowledge of process auditing principles and practices
