Gulli Food Distributors is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of our workplace health and safety systems across multiple states. You will support day-to-day compliance and embed a proactive safety culture nationwide.

Reporting to senior management, you will balance system development with operational involvement, collaborating with leaders to strengthen the safety framework and ensure consistent compliance across Australia.

Qualificações

• Experience leading Safety Management Systems development and implementation.
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and compliance requirements.
• Ability to conduct audits, inspections, investigations, and risk assessments.

• Assist with workers’ compensation, injury management and return-to-work programs.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks.
• Monitor safety performance, reporting and records.

Gulli Food Distributors is a leading food distribution business operating across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

We are seeking an experienced and practical Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of our workplace health and safety systems while supporting the day-to-day compliance needs of our operations.

About the role

Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for building and maintaining effective safety systems while providing practical support to operational teams across multiple states. This role is ideal for a safety professional who enjoys a balance of systems development and operational involvement. You'll work closely with leaders across the business to strengthen our safety framework, improve compliance and help embed a proactive safety culture nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve the company's Safety Management System (SMS)
• Create and maintain WHS policies, procedures, training materials and safe work practices
• Drive nationally consistent safety standards and compliance processes
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits and compliance reviews
• Lead incident, injury and near-miss investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Support managers and supervisors in managing workplace risks and meeting WHS obligations
• Assist with workers compensation, injury management and return-to-work programs
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives
• Monitor safety performance, compliance activities and reporting metrics
• Maintain registers, records and documentation to support legislative compliance

About you

• Previous experience in a Safety Manager, WHS Advisor, Senior WHS Advisor or similar role
• Demonstrated experience implementing or improving Safety Management Systems
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations and risk assessments
• Exposure to workers compensation and return-to-work processes
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A practical, hands hands-on approach with the ability to influence operational teams
• Experience within warehousing, logistics, transport, manufacturing, wholesale or FMCG environments will be highly regarded
