McIlwain Civil Engineering is seeking a Safety Graduate to join the Operations team and kickstart a career in construction health and safety. The role involves travelling between project sites, with DIDO/FIFO where required, beginning at the Mooloolah River Interchange Upgrade Project on the Sunshine Coast.
You will be mentored by our experienced WHS team, support site inspections, audits, and safety observations, and gain hands-on experience across multiple projects while contributing to safety
McIlwain Civil Engineering is a Queensland-based civil construction company headquartered in Murarrie.
Since 1961, McIlwain has been creating outstanding community assets and has become one of Australia’s most trusted and experienced contractors. Over this time, our industry capabilities have evolved to include works within transport, building, services infrastructure, urban, as well as the industrial and energy sectors.
We're looking for a Safety Graduate to join our Operations team and start a career in construction health and safety.
As part of this role, you will work across a variety of McIlwain projects. This will involve travelling between project sites and, where required, periods of working away from home on DIDO (Drive-In Drive-Out) or FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) projects.
Initially, the successful candidate will spend periods of time at our Mooloolah River Interchange Upgrade Project on the Sunshine Coast, gaining valuable hands‑on experience in a live construction environment while supporting project delivery and safety initiatives.
This is a development role supporting project teams with site inspections, audits, and safety observations. You won't be expected to know everything on day one. You'll be mentored by experienced safety and systems professionals and given real responsibility early on, working across several of our projects rather than being tied to a single site.
McIlwain is committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive culture of opportunity. We encourage applications from candidates with culturally diverse backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTQIA+ and people with disabilities.
