Job summary

MSS Group in Australia is seeking a WHS Coordinator to support the WHSE team across the Australian operations. You will drive WHS initiatives, develop and improve the Work Health & Safety Management System, and provide expert advice on health, safety, environment, and quality matters.

You will partner with managers and staff to foster a positive safety culture, coordinate documentation, audits, incident investigations, risk management, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with legislation

Qualifications

• Experience in WHSEQ, WHS Coordinator, or similar role.
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety and a White Card.
• Sound knowledge of Australian/New Zealand WHSEQ legislation and construction safety standards.
• Experience with incident investigations, risk management, and hazard identification.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Must have valid work rights in Australia, and the ability to obtain a police clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of WHSEQ policies, procedures, and management systems.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on WHSEQ legislation, compliance, and best practices.
• Coordinate WHSEQ documentation, reporting systems, audits, and site compliance requirements.
• Assist with incident investigations, risk management, and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture by supporting health and safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
