Job summary

Ventia is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to partner with operational teams across road maintenance and construction activities in Victoria. You’ll help embed a positive safety culture, ensure compliance and support continuous safety improvements on essential infrastructure works.

Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you’ll provide expert advice, conduct inspections and investigations, and deliver safety communications to frontline teams while building strong relationships with stakeholders

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Safety Advisor, Safety Coordinator or SHEQ position.
• Experience working within civil construction, infrastructure, roads, transport, utilities or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk management practices.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• The ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent (desirable)

Ventia has been awarded the Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (VRMC) by Transport for Victoria, delivering essential maintenance and operational services across Victoria's road network.

We're seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to partner with operational teams and leaders across our Road Maintenance operations. This is an opportunity to play a key role in influencing safe behaviours, supporting frontline teams, and driving continuous improvement across critical infrastructure works that keep Victorian communities connected.

About the Role
