Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to partner with the SHEQ Manager, operations and clients across the ACT. The role focuses on maintaining safety and quality standards through site visits and proactive engagement with stakeholders.

You will lead HSE committees, implement safety plans, conduct audits, investigations and ICAM reviews, and travel as required to NSW to support a proactive safety culture across Ventia’s workforce.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience in WHS, environmental or quality role.
• Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation and ISO standards.
• Training in Environment and/or Quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Participation on HSE consultative committees and maintain client relationships to a high standard.
• Collaborate across contracts to implement Health and Safety plans and business continuity.
• Implement Health and Safety objectives with site inspections and findings recording.
• Monitor and report on quality via audits; review non-conformances and drive closure.
• Conduct investigations into incidents to determine root causes and factors.
• Lead ICAM and Serious Incident investigations and drive learnings.
• Undertake reasonable travel throughout NSW as required.

About the role:

In this role, you’ll support projects across the ACT, including regular site visits to assess safety performance and engage directly with clients to provide updates on SHEQ initiatives. You’ll drive positive change and foster a proactive culture of safety and continuous improvement across Ventia’s workforce. Additionally, you'll:

• Participation on HSE consultative committees and maintain key client relationships to a high standard
• Working collaboratively across the contract, implement the Health and Safety management plans, emergency response and business continuity planning
• Implement the project Health and Safety objectives by conducting thorough site inspections and accurately recording the findings
• Monitor & report on quality of works via audits, review non-conformances and take corrective action to ensure prompt closure
• Conducting investigations into incidents and accidents to determine root causes and contributing factors
• Lead and manage ICAM and Serious Incident investigations and drive learnings into the site and wider business as required
• Undertake reasonable travel throughout NSW as required

Are you our next SHEQ Advisor?

• Current Drivers Licence
• Proven work experience in WHS, environmental and or quality role, preferably within services maintenance or construction
• Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Health, Environmental or Quality Equivalent
• Training in Environment and/or Quality management systems
• Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a high risk construction environment
